Being a Korean American with Brazilian roots, finding my identity has been a complex but rewarding journey. As I was writing this piece, I was reminded of how each person’s unique character truly brings unity in our diverse world.
Each snowflake falls alone,
print designed by God.
His hands fold and carve
the edges with quiet intent
no copy, no mistake.
They drift and fall though the endless sky,
each just as fragile, unique, and real.
Alone they melt;
together, they blanket the earth.
So too are wecreated with care,
different as snowflakes,
yet meant to fall

Culture and diversity shape who we are and our identity. Culture brings us together and in fellowship. Because of my culture and diversity, and because of others, I met some of the greatest people in my life. My culture is a part of who I am. A huge part of who I am. My life is the way it is because of my culture, because of diversity. Everybody is different. Everybody is special. Everybody is unique. I love that I am different. I love my culture. I hope you do too, it is a blessing.
